Achievement Centre (ACH)
The Achievement Centre at Mangere College is the first Alternative Education (Alt-Ed) program provider embedded in a NZ High School whose aim and purpose is to provide a safe, healthy and supportive learning environment for alienated youth who are referred from the AIMHI Consortium and community Alt-Ed providers; to also provide ways of overcoming barriers to their learning and to provide quality education programmes and facilitate a return to mainstream schooling.
The ACH follows the Te Whare Tapa Wha model which correlates well with the Pasifika Fonofale model for well-being, to encourage the important whakawhanaungatanga approach to student achievement.
